We’ve had so much fun learning about Diwali! We know the similarities and differences between India and England, we made Diwa lamps, rangoli patterns and Mendhi hand designs and finished the week with a Diwali party with Bollywood dancing, music and traditional food 🎆🎇

We have been loving our new story! This week we have been helping our story telling friends to find out the key events. Ask your children all about the glum, dull star! We also turned into super heroes, our super power was working as a team to decode the text!

Exploring different habitats within our topic sessions. Last week we looked at the artic. We had fun predicting what would happen to the ice in our warm hands! It was so cold, no wonder polar bears have big thick fur! ❄️🌨🐻‍❄️🐧

As part of our “Amazing Animals” topic, we have been investigating the effect the different seasons have on animals. We enjoyed making a cosy space for the hedgehogs to hibernate and tested different materials to see if they are waterproof. 🦔🍁💦

Last week in maths we explored the language of size. We enjoyed using our bodies to gesture the different sizes and using the large blocks to build cages for the animals from the story Dear Zoo! We had to make sure we made them big enough for the animals to fit! 🦒🐍🦁🐒🐶🐪🐸
