I don't think that crime and immigration are the main issues that are causing this mass unhappiness and resentment.
The main issue is loneliness, imo.

If we allow people to practice medicine with no license or degrees and if we end the government involvement and subsidization of colleges, then we would ironically have far more college educated doctors with far better and cheaper education.
