Last night reminded me of something too many people forget:

Power doesn’t start in Washington. It starts on your street.

I spent the evening with local leaders, candidates, and neighbors who actually care enough to show up. Not for headlines. Not for clout. For their towns. Their schools. Their communities.

Local races decide everything people claim to care about… taxes, schools, public safety, development, quality of life. Yet they’re decided by a handful of votes because too many people sit them out.

That’s how you lose a state. Quietly. Slowly. By disengagement.

But I saw the opposite last night.

I saw people asking real questions.
I saw candidates who aren’t polished politicians, but people who actually live the consequences of these decisions.
I saw a community that’s waking up.

This is how you take it back.

Not just every four years.
Not just posting online.
But showing up locally. Meeting the people shaping your town. Supporting candidates who reflect your values. Holding them accountable once they’re in.

If you think your vote doesn’t matter, it’s because you’re looking in the wrong place.

Local is where it matters most.

New Jersey isn’t gone.
We’re still here.
And we’re still fighting.
