Win or lose, this evening will be about joy. Joy for the fact that so many in the Conejo Valley embraced ideas for accessibility for CRPD. With or without a victory I intend to work hard to increase accessibility however I can. #Chaise4Parks
And on another note, in February, 2020 I hosted an event celebrating the message and work of Dr. Martin Luther King. I'd like to make that happen again next year because our community needs positive events. If anyone would like to help with planning let me know.
While I did come up short this election I am not sorry that I ran. The support I have gathered in this race will be instrumental in lobbying CRPD to increase access and equity. Not winning a seat does not mean losing my commitment to the Conejo Valley.
On the fourth anniversary of the 11-7-18 #Borderline mass shooting, the City of Thousand Oaks is commemorating the 12 people killed by lighting the City Hall tower in green all week. No new remembrance displays at the Borderline today, just the ones that have there for 4 years.
Nov. 7 - Nov. 11, we celebrate National School Psychology Week to highlight the important work and contributions of school psychologists to help all students thrive. We're so thankful for our school psychologists invaluable contributions all year through: https://t.co/EzUqj4ubjN
@PNathan4Kids That's a reason I believe having pop up classes would be beneficial. More classes across the Conejo Valley is a must and making that happen should be a CRPD priority. I'd like to have CRPD look at renting vacant spaces in the malls for popup classes.
As CRPD Director I would propose a citizen's advisory committee on accessibility that brings together stakeholders from the disability community, non-profits, transit agencies, etc to help the board better understand and laser focus in on accessibility needs. #Chaise4Parks
@TrentSiggard There is a diverse landscape of wants and needs. Dog owners want action on dog parks, our disability community wants and needs more access, pickleball players want more places to play. Everyone wants a district that works for them.
Through talking to people in person and through emails I have heard a lot about what the Conejo Valley wants for CRPD. From parents and grandparents to educators to seniors to musicians to athletes and everyone else, I have heard your voices and will work for you. #Chaise4Parks
