I'd love for everyone to share this and help us spread the word. We have some big goals for this year's Back 2 School Drive, and I truly believe we can make our biggest impact yet. A backpack. A notebook. A box of crayons. Small acts of kindness can change a child's school year. Let's come together as a community and show what's possible when people choose to help others. Ready to make a HUGE impact.

And don’t forget game passes... pass from real angles, not just under the hoop. Create realistic reps to maximize results! 🏀 #TrainSmart
Watch elite teams closely and you'll notice something interesting: they rarely waste possessions trying to "win" the possession immediately. Instead, they stress the defense repeatedly.
A ball screen forces a switch. The switch creates a mismatch. Help arrives. The help creates a rotation. The rotation creates an open window. Basketball is often less about beating your defender and more about forcing five defenders to solve problems they can't solve quickly enough.
The smartest teams understand this.
Excited to get our Sunday session of the GVBA Summer 3x3 League rolling tonight! The Friday group brought great energy, competition, and a commitment to getting better, and we can't wait to see what the Sunday crew brings. Looking forward to a great summer. Let's get to work. 🏀
Many players think skill development is about adding more moves. The best development programs think differently. The goal isn't to have 50 moves. The goal is to have a few highly efficient solutions that work against elite defenders, under fatigue, in pressure situations, and against multiple coverages.
Research consistently shows that top performers don't necessarily have more options... they have better decision-making regarding when to use them. The best players aren't move collectors. They're problem solvers.
One of the most underrated offensive concepts in basketball is “advantage preservation.” Creating an advantage is hard. Maintaining it is even harder.
Bad teams get a paint touch then settle immediately. Elite teams continue forcing rotations until the defense breaks completely. Extra passes, re-screens, slot exchanges, drift movement, and quick decisions keep defenders in constant conflict.
GREAT offenses are designed to stress defensive communication over and over within the same possession. Eventually someone misses a tag, blows a switch, or rotates late. That’s where efficient offense is created.
💯 .. You should be taking advantage of all that @Hudl has to offer.
Development & building good habits starts with watching film. Study study study.
Film study at high levels is rarely “watch highlights.” It’s studying tendencies, coverage recognition, foot placement, timing patterns, weak side behavior, and decision trees. Basketball IQ grows when players learn WHY actions work, not just WHAT happened. Yet, so few players take film study seriously!
You can say you want to be great. You can say you love the grind. But your habits will always tell the truth. Excellence isn’t a decision you make once... it’s the work you repeat daily. Your routines either reflect your goals or expose your excuses. Your habits never lie! 💯‼️💪🏼
The best offenses attack gaps, not defenders. The goal isn’t always to beat your defender clean... it’s to shift help one step too far, force an extra rotation, and create an advantage chain. Great offense is about manipulating defensive structure possession after possession. Paint touches. Long closeouts. Scramble situations. Finding/creating the advantage.
Summer spots at GVBA are filling up FAST. If you want your athlete in the gym developing skills, confidence, basketball IQ, and game performance this offseason, now is the time to register.

Felt great getting this crew back together today. Still have a bunch of players not back in town yet and some that couldn't be there today, but the energy from our college players that showed up was different. Super competitive, ultra focused, high-level work. Going to be one hell of a summer! #IronSharpensIron #BetterTogether 💪🏀
College/Pro workouts and runs are back this week. Excited to get our players in the gym and back to work. This is where REAL growth happens. High-level training, detail-driven development, high-level competition, and an opportunity to separate. Spots are limited. Big time opportunity to take the next step. Can't wait to get going! #IronSharpensIron
Players can’t be robots. Technique matters... but the game is built on decisions. When to shoot, when to drive, when to move it, when to cut, when to slow down or speed up. If players don’t learn how to read the game, “perfect form” won’t show up when it actually matters. Great players aren’t programmed... they’re adaptable. They understand spacing, timing, and how to respond to what’s in front of them. Teach the decision and the skills will improve.
