I came to Navi Mumbai when I was 7 years old, leaving the hellhole that is West Bengal behind. Learnt Marathi quite easily since it is a Devanagari language. Developed immense respect for the Marathas and their culture.
Moved to Hyderabad for college and stayed there for 7 years. Learnt conversational Telugu. It was difficult but I did it nonetheless, because I am a fan of Indic languages and I feel makes me a better Hindu. Developed immense respect for the Kakatiyas and the Vijayanagara Empire.
Moved to Bengaluru for an year, didn't learn Kannada because language hooliganism there was state sponsored.
Moved to Pune to continue my career, and now that I know Marathi, and got to explore the Maratha pieces of history (Jejuri, Shivneri etc), I am grateful that I know Marathi.
Learning local languages is important for both the local and the Hindu culture in general. Marathi is literally a Devanagari language and even shares the same script. Not at all difficult.
I'm sorry Gunther but time has run out for the Collective West. They had plenty of time to make a difference to the Global South. They chose plunder, racism and imperialism. That is over. The BRICS are moving in. It won't be perfect but it is better than what the West offers which is nothing.
Approx 1 year ago some BRAites were discussing how to fix the "Brahmin problem" to achieve social justice utopia. To that one account suggested to sh**t Brahmin babies in the face with shotguns.
