I am excited to announce that I have been awarded a #UPS Global Scholarship to pursue a Masters at the #1 International Business School in the US. I am also honored to be the 1st #SriLankan to pursue a MIB at the Darla Moore School of Business, University of South Carolina.
Sri Lanka was the worldβs largest tea exporter until 2009, the year the war ended! so why didnβt the industry grow from there, and what actually went wrong? corruption?

Agree with this 100%! Fitness is non-negotiable but it has to be consistent, not reactive. You canβt neglect standards for years and then suddenly tighten them right before a major opportunity like the IPL. That doesnβt come across as discipline but it looks like poor planning and lack of long-term structure. If fitness was enforced properly over time, players wouldnβt be caught off guard at the worst possible moment. This should be a wake-up call for SLC to build a system, not just impose rules when itβs convenient.
While this may sound appealing in theory, itβs not practical for Sri Lanka right now. Unlike India, our fiscal space is extremely limited! we rely heavily on fuel taxes for government revenue. Removing or reducing excise duties would significantly widen the budget deficit and could put even more pressure on inflation, debt obligations, and IMF commitments.
India has the scale and economic buffer to absorb such policy moves. Sri Lanka simply doesnβt given our size and economy! How are you suitable candidate to lead the country if you dont even realize that?
That said, as the opposition leader, your role is not just to criticize but to also present realistic, workable alternatives. The country needs constructive solutions and policy leadership and not just comparisons that donβt fit our economic reality or comparisons to what it was like back in the 1980s when your father (great guy) was the President.
Finn Allen and @BLACKCAPS should buy Dasun Shanaka dinner and NZ send free fresh milk to #srilanka for an year for not ruining their chances of making it to the Final of the #ICCMensT20WorldCup
What if I told you Sri Lanka went on to win this game? Yes, thatβs the kind of players we had! Sooooo, If you are too blaming fans for being mad at you for losing almost all your games in a World Cup in a humiliating way under home condition, you donβt belong in international cricket. #ICCMensT20WorldCup #lka
Sri Lanka lost some of the greatest comedians ever over the last decade: Vijaya Nandasiri, Tennyson Cooray, Samuel, Annesley and Berty.
But in their absence, our cricket team has bravely taken on the responsibility of making the entire nation laughβ¦ and cryβ¦ at the same time.π #lka #ICCT20WorldCup
@cricketcomau you guys really made Steve Smith travel to Sri Lanka for the air miles. I mean one of the best players in our generation and probably the best batter against spin in the entire Aussie team who somehow got approved as a replacement for Josh, didnβt get to play a single game in Sri Lanka. Wow! #ICCMensT20WorldCup2026
Dhananjaya De Silva is is NOT a T20 player!
11(12) - 4 runs off an inside edge, 2 off a dropped catch and gave his wicket away when we lost 4 wickets for 23 runs off 27 balls. Not being able to play spin in home conditions is a joke! #SLvENG
The day little Kalu was promoted to the top and the rest was history! Aussies were stunned by this inning during a time where strike rates of 100+ was not a thing!! #lka
If any sports fan asks you, βhow to end your career on a highβ¦β just show them this! @KumarSanga2 was a cricket legend! He was born in Australia, England or India, he would get much more credit. But heβs a king, our king for every Sri Lankan!
