When we built Azure Event Hubs, the biggest wins did not come from what we built.
They came from what we refused to build.
First, we did not position it as another SKU of an existing messaging service.
We created a new category: cloud-native event streaming ingestion. That decision alone determined discoverability, adoption, and how customers mentally mapped the product.
Second, we were explicit about non-goals.
We did not fork Kafka. We did not chase protocol novelty. We avoided paths that would lock us into expertise bottlenecks or long rewrite cycles.
Third, we chose openness early.
AMQP as a first-class protocol gave us interoperability from day one. Kafka compatibility came later, as an on-ramp, not as the foundation.
Fourth, we resisted building everything ourselves.
Instead of inventing a new durable storage system with cross-AZ guarantees, we leaned on existing Azure platform primitives and focused on ingestion, scale, and reliability. That choice alone removed years of risk.
Fifth, we optimized for survival before success.
A very small CPU and memory footprint per Event Hub, aggressive lazy initialization, and low idle cost meant we could exist quietly until real demand arrived. Trial tenants did not kill our cost to serve.
Sixth, we kept the team small and senior.
High coherence beats headcount. That discipline mattered during downturns and avoided institutional thrash.
Seventh, we made our thinking visible.
Public design discussions, observable failure modes, self-serve diagnostics, and real customer case studies scaled understanding along with usage.
Finally, we removed friction from growth.
Customers could start tiny, pay little, and scale fungibly. Integrations like capture into data lakes made the service inevitable rather than aspirational.
The lesson is simple:
At platform scale, success is less about feature velocity and more about the cost of being wrong.
I write about career leverage, AI, data platforms, SaaS, cloud, systems engineering, first-principles engineering, enterprise architecture, and organizational navigation - from the inside, not from theory.

Security products have to play nicely with Ops.
In my time building https://t.co/nosEX5LaBa, I've learned the hard way that security tools need to play nice with ops and dev teams, or they're dead on arrival.
We designed our API security platform to auto-discover and test without any downtime drama or complex setups, actually making life easier while locking things down.
If it slows the ship or creates headaches, it's not worth it. Let's build security that empowers, not obstructs!

APIs are no longer just part of your business; they are your business.
APIs have become the backbone of digital transformation.
From payments to mobility, every interaction runs on them.
But the industry’s response has been to stack more detection tools on top, flagging issues only after they’ve hit production.
That creates fatigue, noise, and risk.
The shift we need is from faster detection to earlier prevention. Security must be embedded into design, testing, and deployment. That’s the principle guiding our fix-first philosophy, making API security proactive instead of reactive.

Launching the first-of-its-kind API Security MCP Server. Advancing our mission to help enterprises accelerate, maximize, and retain API-led revenue.
Why MCP Server and why now?
Because AI agents need more than just data.
They need real-time, governed, structured context to fix vulnerabilities and ship safely.
Our MCP Server delivers just that — without breaking workflows or compromising safety.
Built on Levo’s proven primitives:
✅ Continuous API Visibility
✅ Context-Aware Security Testing
Not just insights for humans — insights for agents, copilots, and automation.

Meet the team and learn how we’re making API security proactive and continuous — not reactive and manual.
The Ministry of Electronics & IT just released DPDP implementation rules.
All enterprises collecting Indian citizens' data must comply.
The compliance game has changed post-pandemic—outcome-driven, cross-jurisdictional, fast-moving.
India’s DPDP Act will reshape how enterprises operate ⬇️
