@brigidjones @PauletteHamilto @WaseemZaffar @nxwestmidlands Point is, if ban was enforced then media would pick up on children in poverty having food snatched from them and hard working families turned off buses. Which is partly why ban isn't enforced.

Suggestion is: banning things isn't always an effective way of changing behaviour.

@PauletteHamilto @brigidjones @WaseemZaffar @nxwestmidlands Absolutely right about the futility of bans that aren't enforced. There certainly used to be notices saying no eating on Brum buses. No one did anything about it.

The bit about food and children's mouths is how the media would portray it. What politician wants those headlines?
