"I am a Manchester United fan, but we have to be completely honest about what happened out there today. That was a clear and obvious handball by Harry Maguire, and how VAR has looked at the replays and decided not to intervene is absolutely baffling to me.

To step up into the opposition box and gain an unfair advantage by controlling the ball with your arm... it completely changes the dynamic of the match. Ipswich were well in the game, fighting for every inch, and that second goal killed their momentum entirely.

I know people will say you always play to the referee's whistle, but the technology was brought in to stop exactly this kind of injustice. I will be brutally honest: if that exact same handball happens at the other end of the pitch, the goal gets ruled out in five seconds. Manchester United got away with a massive one today, and Ipswich have every single right to feel completely robbed."

🎙️ “I’m sorry, but I’m struggling with this one. You watch the replay and the ball clearly hits Maguire’s hand, and somehow we’re told there’s no handball.

“I understand there are rules around accidental handball and who scores the goal, but honestly, I don’t know what the rules are anymore. If that contact helps the attacking player gain possession before the ball ends up in the net, surely VAR has to look at the bigger picture.

“That goal completely changed the game and put United 2–1 ahead. Whether the law technically allows it or not, the decision is going to be debated for days.

“VAR was brought in to give us clarity. Instead, we’re sitting here watching the replay ten times and still asking the same question: how is that not handball?”
