【本日の五月祭の中止に関して】

五月祭は本日（5月16日（土））の全企画の実行を中止いたしました。

本郷・弥生キャンパスの各所に爆弾を仕掛け、五月祭期間中に爆破する等の犯行予告メールが、弊委員会及び特定の企画団体に対してあったことを受け、五月祭の運営に責任を有する者として、大学および警察とも協議した上で慎重に検討した結果、来場者、企画構成員ならびに委員の安全を確保することが困難であると判断したため、 本日の全企画の実行中止を決定いたしました。

弊委員会は、大学との連携の下、キャンパスの安全確認を徹底する措置を講じた上での明日の五月祭の再開を検討しています。

本学学生の自主的な学術文化活動の場である五月祭が、このような経緯により中止されることに、強い遺憾の意を表明します。企画構成員の皆様、来場者の皆様、学内関係者の皆様、協賛・賛助いただいた皆様、五月祭の実施に協力していただいた方々におかれましては、多大なるご迷惑をおかけしてしまい、申し訳ございません。

明日の五月祭の再開可否、および今回の事実関係の確認やそれを踏まえた対応につきましては、追って公表いたします。

서울익스프레스는 미디어 기반의 설치 작업을 통해 직접 창작한 소설의 서사 구조를 실험합니다. <게조라의 숲>은 움직임과 소리가 유기적으로 작동하는 사운드 키네틱 설치와 관객 참여적인 텍스트 작업을 통해 실시간으로 반영되는 서사를 선보입니다. 키네틱 설치 연작과 공간 내 인터랙티브 장치를 통해 전달되는 이야기는 개별적인 것처럼 보이지만, 같은 세계관을 공유하며 흘러갑니다. 각각의 이야기가 완벽한 논리로 하나의 서사를 완결하는 대신, 간간이 주어지는 불확실한 단서처럼 존재합니다.
미술관이라는 구체적인 공간을 이동하며 듣는 행위, 미술관에서의 독서는 결국 저마다의 기억과 감각으로 구성해내는, 관객의 의식 속에서 소멸하고 다시 태어나는 살아있는 소설이 됩니다.

구동희의 신작 〈캐스케이드〉는 도시 구조물과 물의 흐름에서 출발한 작업으로 교각과 수로, 인공적인 구조와 자연의 움직임이 중첩되는 장면을 단서로 이미지들이 형성하는 관계에 초점을 둡니다. 작가가 촬영하거나 수집한 다른 맥락의 푸티지들이 서로 연결되는 영상은 단일한 서사로 통합되지 않으며, 이미지가 전이되는 방식과 연쇄 구조를 드러냅니다.

〈캐스케이드〉는 작가가 십여 년 전 발표한 〈맥 아래서, 주문을 건다〉를 다시 돌아보며 코멘터리하는 작업이기도 합니다. 〈맥 아래서, 주문을 건다〉는 인공 자연 속에서 수맥을 찾아 헤매는 인물을 보여주는 작업으로, 이번 전시에서 두 작업이 하나의 화면에 설치되어 시각적 분산을 경험하게 합니다. 인공물과 물줄기 사이를 탐색하는 공통된 시선, 영상의 동일한 재생 시간은 두 작업이 상호 참조하고 간섭하는 관계임을 드러냅니다.
