It is insane that so much of our criminal justice system comes down to whether an anxious sleep-deprived basket case attorney can convince an old white man to do what laws say.
@not_chasebank When I was in law school a woman stole my seat after like WEEKS of class, and when I confronted her she was like “my seat squeaks.”
LIFELONG nemesis. Ironically it was in property.
I support working in person and also complaining because it saved me $1000.
I got a quote from a mechanic to replace my brakes and I complained about it at work and my coworkers were astonished by the quote so I got a second opinion and guess what? Nothing wrong with brakes!!
@GalvinAlmanza One time my client came to trial in a grey t shirt, one of the new attorneys at our office who had come to watch lent the client her blazer which was 5 sizes too big. We rolled the sleeves up and won! PDs are out here literally giving clients the clothes off our backs.
@SamAdlerBell Actually you can still do this if you’re a girlfriend to a boyfriend and even if that boyfriend has seen the first movie. To be considerate.
It feels physically bad for my heart to bear witness to the multitude of ways judges dehumanize and embarrass my clients, who are trying their hardest.
It truly feels like a little heartbreak every time 💔
There were things in the big "I got scammed" piece that I think I'd have fallen for and things I think I wouldn't have, but if an ostensible law enforcement officer tells me I cannot get a lawyer I am getting a Triple Deluxe Lawyer
Truly grateful to police officers for help writing suppression motions. They save me so much time. Don’t need to analyze detention when the officer literally holds the clients hands behind their back. Pretextual stop? They included the illegal reason in the police report. A+
