@zachly@m1ndhunter_x@Jim849529967812@FrenlyOfficer Gemini was forced through to voice control on Android Auto recently &it is crap. Half the time I ask it to stream a song:"I can't play a video while driving"(duh! ๐). Ask it to navigate somewhere and it's response is way too wordy. Ask a question and get a lecture about driving.
@RebelRancher I hope that she continues to be an easy sleeper for you! I'm a mom to four, and they have all been so different with sleep, food etc that I truly don't believe there is one "right" way to parent. Cosleeping worked really well for us, and I nursed all four of mine to around 2yo.
@RebelRancher Second child was an easy sleeper from the very beginning. I honestly didn't believe people could just lay a baby down and have it fall asleep until we did it with him ๐ He still loves his sleep!
@RebelRancher Yes, my first child (natural birth, coslept, EBF) was a screamer & refused to sleep unless he was on me or hubby. He chilled out a lot when he started crawling, and even more when he started talking (early). He's now a delightful, calm and well adjusted 17yo.
@SmugFecundity@majdav_@HippyMomPhD I have seen them and will probably look into them for the 12yo. 15yo needs a bit more processing time and would likely get lost and I'd end up needing to teach him directly anyway. My 12yo is the most mathy of my kids. 15yo is a mini-me and prefers reading ๐
@majdav_@SmugFecundity@HippyMomPhD I wanted to love it so badly because it's so highly regarded. We slogged through AOPS for a bit, switched curriculums a few different times and now my oldest (17) is self-pacing Calculus on Khan Academy. 15yo is doing Algebra with me, 12yo is finishing up BA, 6yo is doing BA1.
@majdav_@SmugFecundity@HippyMomPhD I've used BA books with 4 kids, and have used the online version with one of mine who needed a bit of extra practice with specific topics. I love it. They can mostly work independently and only rarely need extra help. One downside - AOPS Algebra etc is very dry in comparison.
@FrailSkeleton Costco, Aldi, occasionally Lidl. And a huge Korean/international supermarket which I think is a chain called Nam Dae Mun. They have every meat, seafood or fresh produce option you could possibly dream of.
@owl_elc@reneaisamommy A wider based pot like the one to the left might help. I cut the bigger leaves from the bottom on mine. No idea if that's the "right" way to do it. They can get absolutely massive, pretty sure they grow to the size of the pot and then hang out at that size without exceeding it.
@owl_elc I have a black Rae Dunn one that says "Witches Brew", and a white Christmas one that just says JOY multiple times in red. Right now I am having coffee out of a 20 year old Eeyore mug ๐
@JeromeAdamsMD@21FannyB They also had to give it to teen boys who are MOST at risk of myocarditis. After the heightened risk for that age group was already known, and the vast majority of those teen boys already had covid and were just fine. We chose to wait it out rather than take that risk. Thank God.
@JeromeAdamsMD@21FannyB There was a mandate in place until 2025 for anyone (down to 6mo!) seeking adjustment of status/green card. Parents who felt they had no choice had to give it to their infants when almost no other country in the world was recommending it for them, let alone mandating.
@owl_elc I am. The few close female friends I have had have predominantly been INTJ too. I definitely get on better with introverts, my extroverted husband is an exception ๐
@celinegounder@AmerAcadPeds@vladduthiersCBS@CBSMornings What about every other country in the world? Like the US, other countries also don't recommend babies get Covid vaccines. Are they also "shaped by politics & ideology, not science"? Are you aware of ANY country recommending these shots for healthy babies?!?
@owl_elc I don't know if you'd call it quality fiction, but I'm on book 4 of Stoker and Holmes by Colleen Gleason. They are set in steampunk London, FPPOV switches between the two protagonists, both 17, Bram Stoker's sister Evaline and Sherlock Holmes's niece Mina, solving mysteries.
@Marcus_A_Mgmt @GBNEWS Congratulations on your baby. It sounds like your wife will need a lot of support in the recovery period. Pls encourage her to accept all the help she needs & keep a close eye for signs of PPD/PND. Get a meal train going, find a friend or family member who can help with cleaning.
@Marcus_A_Mgmt @GBNEWS I had my eldest at Slough in 08, and while labour and delivery were fine, postnatal care was awful. There was a lady on my ward with twins, she birthed one then had a C-section for the second. She was in so much pain ๐ I fetched her breakfast bc she couldn't do the walk herself.
@Marcus_A_Mgmt @GBNEWS We also had to "fight" to be discharged. Had babe 8pm, put into ward overnight & told we'd be out next morning. 6pm they finally discharged us. At that point I'd been awake for more than 48 hours (long labour & couldn't sleep in the ward). Homebirths for the next 3. Much better.
@owl_elc It must be the latest marketing trend. A little bit of googling and the company also seems to do the whole "we sold out of this last time so buy it quick!!", "biggest sale ever" kind of posts. Manufactured scarcity.
