#MCOpinion: The allegation before the CCI is that @amazon & @Flipkart provide deep discounts to select products listed by their preferential sellers & this does not provide a level-playing field.

@tgspdcl There is a power cut everyday in Bhoodevinagar due to a faulty transformer. Its been a week the issue still remains unresolved despite multiple complaints to AE. Please look into it. Ref. No. TK2405126325.
@kdedulji Hahaha! Cryptoscams are on a rise in Hyderabad. Yesterday I was speaking to bunch of people who invested in some shit coins and the company is closed now..
Irrespective of the outcome today in the WP before the KHC, this will be an important milestone in Antitrust Jurisprudence, for the simple reason that today the regulator is keen to investigate the platforms and it put its best efforts in furtherance of same before the KHC.
In the last one year we have seen an increasing trend of antitrust litigation against Amazon globally. Now with the state instrumentality joining the bandwagon it only tilts the balance of scales against Amazon.
BREAKING: Today my office filed an antitrust lawsuit against Amazon for illegally abusing and maintaining its monopoly power by controlling prices across the online retail market and violating DC law.
@tanvi_ratna The interference? If RBI denies it in the counter affidavit then it will be recorded in the order and that solves the problem. If it admits then it can be tested on Doctrine Proportionality. The issue here is ambiguity of interference not the merits.
Today had the honour of saving 244 fully grown trees from being cut by the govt at Gandipet for road widening works. The Hon'ble HC was pleased to stay the felling of trees on the lunch motion moved by @vata_foundation
Felling should be an exception and translocation a norm!
@simplykashif What's the point of spending on ads when the customer service is itself pathetic? Its been over 24hrs and I'm unable to deposit money and trade on @WazirXIndia . This defeats the entire purpose of crypto- making it seamless and quick.
The Draft E-Commerce Policy is nothing but an eyewash. Without a regulator and a penalty, there is no deterrent for the marketplaces to follow this policy. How about the govt shows same enthusiasm as IT Rules, 2021 in this 100th DRAFT?
[Amazon - Flipkart] Investigation by ED under FEMA does not bar probe by CCI for Competition Law violations: CCI to Karnataka High Court

@balajis 2. As its a centralised authority it misuses this conflict of interest to its advantage. As an antitrust lawyer representing the independent sellers my concern is there is no solution for centralisation problem in law.
@balajis 1. In India the Antitrust regulator is keen to investigate Amazon. One of biggest concern of the platform is, it's a seller and a manufacturer (Pvt labels) competing with independent sellers and brands. Conflict of Interest!

Karnataka HC to shortly begin hearing two petitions moved by Amazon and flipkart seeking to quash the probe ordered by the Competition Commission of India (CCI) against them for alleged violations of Competition Law.
@Flipkart@amazonIN@CCI_India
@balajis 3. At the most it can only behaviour some forms of misuse of this conflict of interest. But law is slow. Do you see the use case for Blockchain/Decentralisation based platform here? If yes, could you explain in simple terms what it would look like?

@ashwani_mahajan@kushgrwl@CCI_India By that logic @PiyushGoyal owes an answer on why it's taking so long to pass the E-commerce Policy when he himself has admitted that platforms are resorting to unfair practices on several occasions?
