He did use the words "aaj ke grammar ke lehaz se ghalat hai" which was unacceptable way to phrase it. So he apologized immediately

@Alminhaji Ok i get your point now. But many people who celebrate Mawlid does regard gathering specifically on 12 Rabi al Awwal has a special religious significance rather than simply choosing it for convenience.
