They left behind high-paying biotech careers in Bengaluru.
Sold their house.
And bet everything on a snack most people take for granted.
Today, Nidhi and Shikhar Singh have built Samosa Singh into a ₹45 crore brand serving nearly 50,000 samosas every single day across cities like Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Chennai, Mysuru, and Visakhapatnam.
What began as a simple observation at a local food court became a mission to give India’s most-loved snack the consistency and scale of global fast-food giants.
But building a samosa empire was far from easy.
From working out of a tiny 300 sq-ft kitchen with one cook, to personally delivering orders themselves, the couple faced scepticism at every step. Many believed their biotechnology backgrounds would be useless in the food business.
Instead, they used science to solve one of India’s biggest snack heartbreaks: soggy samosas.
Using specialised dough techniques and years of experimentation, they created samosas that stay crispy for hours, even during delivery.
Today, from classic aloo fillings to fusion flavours like cheese chilli and Manchurian, their brand has found fans in homes, cafes, corporates, and even Air India.
Would you ever leave a secure job to chase an unconventional dream?

Not long ago, Pooja Singh was practicing high jumps in her Haryana village using bamboo poles and sacks instead of professional equipment. Today, she’s India’s new national record holder.
The daughter of a construction worker, Pooja’s journey wasn’t built in world-class stadiums. It was built with jugaad, persistence, and countless jumps when nobody was watching.
At the Asian U20 Championships in Hong Kong, the 19-year-old cleared 1.93m, breaking a senior national record that had stood untouched for 14 years and becoming the first Indian woman to win the high jump title at the event. Before that, she had already crossed 1.91m to better her own U20 national mark.
And at just 19, she hasn’t just raised the bar for Indian athletics, she’s raised it for every young girl who’s been told to dream smaller.
