@MaryBethO_ It's tough for me to accept that the abuse I experienced growing up helped to cause it because it means it is preventable. "What could have been?"arises for me.
@Traveling_Sober@XRPArmyNews1 @WorldofRobert1 I could do exactly what you suggested! EXCEPT I would eventually relapse and fucking die because of the NATURE of true alcoholism. After one sip of alcohol the phenomenon of CRAVING would developed and I am screwed. Sounds like the guy wasn't actually working the 12 steps...
@thesoberheathen Im very grateful I found a higher power. I simply can not manage my own life. My higher power helps me to do so and so much more. I also have always known every person must experience their own journey. For me, it took a lot of pain and misery to finally accept my need for HP.
@MaryBethO_ Agreed! I was just telling a client today that just because we can continue to get better and focus on growth in our recovery journeys does not necessarily mean our loved ones will take that same path.
