During a press conference in Delhi, BJP spokesperson Shehzad Poonawalla made several serious allegations against the Congress and the INDIA alliance.

Poonawalla accused the alliance of promoting Bangladeshi infiltration for vote-bank politics and criticised the Congress for adopting a soft stance toward Pakistan in the aftermath of the 26/11 Mumbai attacks.

He also targeted the INDIA alliance on issues such as Article 370 and the surgical strikes.

Referring to the SIR process, Poonawalla alleged that the Trinamool Congress (TMC) was inciting riots and claimed that the Mamata Banerjee government did not want infiltrators to be removed from the voters’ list through the SIR verification process.

3. Role of Waqf Board was to supervise management of Waqf properties by Mutawallis & those handling Waqf affairs. In no way does Waqf Board directly manages Waqf properties.

4. Waqf property must be used for poor Mu$£ims which was NOT happening.

5. To make it more Inclusive, Amendment requires Waqf Board to include members from Shia, Bohra & other backward classes of the Mu$£im community, along with mandatory inclusion of two women.

5. Centralized database & a digital portal will be created, ensuring that NO ONE CAN SECRETLY CREATE WAQF PROPERTIES UNDER THE COVER OF DARKNESS.

6. Proper registration, tracking, monitoring & compliance mechanisms would be established.
