Here's a piece I wrote for my blog about Jacinda Ardern's flailing chances at the 2023 NZ Election this September. Is she about to become Boudicca butchered by a business gladiator?

Roshan's Movie Song of the Week:
That's How You Know from Enchanted
Amy Adams has such a beautiful singing voice. Her vocals are every bit as good as her acting in 'Enchanted' and she's just a genuinely lovely presence throughout.

Roshan's TV Movie of the Week:
Pulp Fiction (1994)
(18, 154 Mins)
Sun Jan. 8th, 10pm, Channel 4
Quentin Tarantino's 1994 Neo-Noir classic has everything we've come to love about the pistol-mouthed trash auteur.
Roshan's DVD of the Week:
Decision to Leave
(Blu-Ray & DVD)
(15, 139 Mins)
Park Chan-Wook's mystery thriller may not be his best film, but has strong shades of Hitchcock. I think it deserves a good shot at the Best Foreign Language Film Oscar.
Roshan's Movie Song of the Week:
With You All the Time from Don't Worry Darling
What a perfect song from a perfect film to welcome in the New Year. Sung which gothic, depraved, popcorn-lunged majesty by the glorious Florence Pugh. There's nothing that woman can't do.
Roshan's TV Movie of the Week:
The Woman in Black (2012)
(15, 99 Mins)
Tues Jan. 3rd, 10.40pm, BBC1
'The Woman in Black' is a chillingly gothic ghost story with more than a touch of Hammer about it. It's also one of Daniel Radcliffe's best performances.

Roshan's DVD of the Week:
Don't Worry Darling
(4K Blu-Ray,
Blu-Ray & DVD)
(15, 118 Mins)
'Don't Worry Darling' is the best film of the year - a Polanskian showcase of paranoia and extreme cinema with an absolutely monumental performance from Florence Pugh.
Here's my review of 'Disenchanted'. Safe to say, it's better than the original, but, then again, I don't think I can watch anything with Amy Adams anymore objectively without feeling like I'm stabbing her in the back; having met her of course:

Here's my review of 'Matilda the Musical'. The 1996 Danny DeVito original was unimprovable and yet Matthew Wharcus improved on it. I loved, loved, loved this movie!:

Roshan's Movie Song of the Week:
'I See You' from 'Avatar'
Leona Lewis recorded this beautiful song for 'Avatar'. With the sequel arriving in cinemas this week after a 13 year haitus, it seems appropriate this was my movie song.
Roshan's TV Movie of the Week:
A Star is Born (2018)
(15, 136 Mins)
Sun Dec. 18th, 10pm, BBC2
Gaga was robbed of an Oscar for her extraordinary performance in Bradley Cooper's third and best version of 'A Star is Born'. This is the movie 'La La Land' should've been.
Roshan's DVD of the Week:
Official Competition
(Blu-Ray & DVD)
(15, 115 Mins)
Penelope Cruz delivers an Almodovaran masterpiece of a performance in this very Almodovaran movie. It's Penelope's best performance since 'Volver'. A movie where life becomes art and art becomes life.
Despite all the "revolutionary" 3D and motion capture special effects in the new 'Avatar' movie, there's nothing in it to match the physicality of the splashing head scene in T2.
Florence Pugh's new movie is directed by her ex-boyfriend and 20 years senior. Must've been awkward as hell. More awkward than kissing Harry Styles.. And that's not because of the age gap. It's because you're working with your ex.

Here's a very personal piece I wrote about my experience with Alcoholism. Please do not judge me for some of my behaviours when drunk and unwell. I've done and said a lot in my life I deeply regret and have tried to put that guilt to pen and paper:
