As an Arizona native, business leader, and entrepreneur, Ryan understands the importance of developing a strong workforce and creating opportunities for students to succeed in today’s rapidly evolving economy.
Ryan believes Maricopa’s colleges should be a leading partner in training Arizona’s healthcare professionals and in building the trade workforce that builds Arizona. That means expanding career-focused education, technical training, apprenticeships, and partnerships with local employers in the industries that keep Arizona growing.
He is committed to making sure students and families have access to affordable, local education. In 2019, the end of Maricopa’s JUCO Football program took away that opportunity for young men across Maricopa County. Ryan is fighting to bring it back and provide a path to education that has been closed for years.
As a candidate for the Maricopa County Community College District Governing Board representing District 4 on the west side of the valley, Ryan is committed to bringing his business and marketing acumen and experience to the board to help better manage the $1.7B budget, increase student enrollment, and build stronger partnerships between education and industry.
John Crow is a fourth-generation Arizonan, business leader, and dedicated community advocate who has spent his career investing in the future of Maricopa County.
As a candidate for the Maricopa County Community College District Governing Board, John is committed to protecting affordable, local education for Arizona families and ensuring that taxpayer dollars are spent responsibly. He believes Maricopa’s community colleges must expand practical training that prepares the skilled workforce that builds Arizona, as well as strengthening programs that prepare nurses, technicians, and other essential caregivers to serve our growing communities.
JUCO Football has been the heartbeat of college campuses across the state until the fields closed in 2019. As a past JUCO football player himself, John wants to bring it back, creating opportunities for student-athletes that have been missing for years.
John believes community colleges play a vital role in preparing the next generation of skilled workers, business leaders, and public servants who will shape Arizona’s future.
Susan Winder brings a lifelong commitment to student achievement, academic excellence, and accountable leadership. She worked in K–12 education and taught Child Development at the college level, later serving as a Campus Faculty Assessment Liaison to help educators implement research-based practices that improved student learning outcomes.
As a Maricopa County Community College District Governing Board member, Susan will work to preserve affordable, local education while demanding transparency, accountability, and high academic standards.
She will support programs that train Arizona’s healthcare professionals and develop the skilled workforce that builds Arizona, ensuring students can gain the knowledge and credentials employers need. Susan also supports bringing back JUCO football as a path to education and opportunity that has been missing for young men since the program ended in 2019.
She believes every decision must serve students, families, employers, and the taxpayers who support our colleges efficiently and responsibly.
