She called Camilla a decoy, and plainly stated Camilla would be used the same way she was. Diana believed none of them were loved. Each one had a job.

Diana was the first. The young bride, chosen, married, and used to give the Crown its heirs. Two sons, the line secured. Her job was done. And the moment the marriage ended, in her own words, she became a nuisance, someone in the way.

Camilla was the decoy. For years the whole world was trained to hate Camilla. The other woman, the villain, the scandal. And while everyone stared at her, nobody looked anywhere else. Diana flat out calls her a decoy in this note. The hate was the point. It kept the real plan in the dark.

And then there was Tiggy, the young nanny who raised the boys. In this letter, Diana names her as the one he actually meant to marry. The clean reset. The approved replacement.

So look at what she’s really saying. One woman to carry the heirs. One to soak up the scandal. One to start fresh. Three roles. One man.

She wasn’t scared of losing a husband. She was scared because she was the only one who understood the whole machine.
