And that's a wrap on the Changeman 40th anniversary celebration. I was waiting for the Changeman reunion event to take place before signing off. Thanks to the Changefans who have followed along and supported over the past year! Let's Change!
"Throughout their battles, many situations unfolded between aliens and the Changeman. No matter how distant they are, and no matter how different their appearances, all living beings in the universe share the same feelings of love, trust and desire for peace."
I always thought there was a noticeable change in the cast's appearance from the beginning of the show to the end, how much they all mature. Here's a comparison, and how the characters themselves changed from episode 1 to 55...
It was a genius decision to bring Sakura back. Having someone from the first planet destroyed by Bazuu play an important part in his end is meaningful, and the enlarged Memory Doll that tears its way through Gozma Star and looms in its skyline is beautiful symbolism.
This is one of the most ambitious tokusatsu finales at the time -- only the final scene takes place on Earth. The Changeman are in space, get lost, get stranded on Gozma Star, get EATEN by Gozma Star and have to use their wits to escape.
2/22/86 -- Episode 55, "Farewell, Friends of the Universe" airs. On their final mission, the Changeman race the clock as they journey into space to save their friends and stop the Gozma Star from its plan to crash into the Earth.
