Finance Minister admits the Mbudzi Interchange project cost US$114 million, contradicting earlier public claims that it had cost only US$86 million.

The revelation came during a parliamentary question-and-answer session, where the minister failed to justify the secret addition of US$26 million to the project budget. This raises serious concerns about transparency, possible abuse of office and allegations of looting in a project already shrouded in limited public disclosure and questionable accountability.

Fadzayi Mahere is so many things to me. She is a sister, her portrait hangs in my mother’s lounge. She is a friend, although she owes my son $100. She is a certified opponent, whenever we are up against each other in court the grass suffers. So I can tell you a few things about her.

1. She is not corrupt.
2. ⁠She does not bribe judges. This, good people, is an impossibility.

Amnesty International strongly condemns the arrest and detention of Faith Zaba for exercising her constitutionally guaranteed rights as a journalist. This is an assault on the right to freedom of expression and press freedom.

Zimbabwean authorities must immediately release Faith Zaba and drop all charges against her, as she is detained simply for doing her job. Authorities must allow journalists to carry out their work freely, safely, and without fear of harassment, intimidation, or reprisals.
