I, along with @akhmxt (a digital investigator & OSINT expert), look at the conspiracy theories around India’s recent arrests of seven foreign “mercenaries” returning from Myanmar:

He also did victim blaming. I don’t have strong feeling about him however, just felt necessary to highlight his activity that could harm victims directly or indirectly.
@sheehanj920 The reason I said this is because he has shared many ignorant opinions of human suffering at the hands of a brutal armed group. Like time and again. In fact, there were occasions where he endorsed AA’s denials.
Wai Wai Nu at the UN today:
"I urge all of you to ask yourself: Why do we see these patterns happening over and over again? Because for #Rohingya and fellow ethnic minorities, the answer has always been clear: impunity. For 70 years, the military has escaped justice. The impunity emboldened others to follow. Ending impunity is the only way to end atrocities. Therefore, the international community must end this impunity that is at the root of all atrocities."

Given how helpless the Rohingya are now under AA—facing forced labor and abuse—it’s hard to imagine they could’ve defied the junta’s brutal orders in 2024–25, when they were forced into conscription and used as human shields.
“India has international legal obligations to protect and uphold the rights of all refugees on its territory and must immediately halt forced returns of Rohingya refugees to Myanmar,” said @yaplaysheng, Human Rights Specialist @FortifyRights. More here: https://t.co/RAQoFznGeh
Arrest of ARSA head, Ata Ullah the criminal responsible for thousands of Rohingya lives he destroyed, feels like the celebration of Eid in advance. The criminal should be punished severely for playing with Rohingya people’s fate.

“These extrajudicial executions are not an isolated incident,” said Ejaz Min Khant from Fortify Rights.
“Other atrocity crimes, like the Arakan Army’s arson attack in Buthidaung and the Maungdaw massacre of Rohingya, remain unacknowledged and uninvestigated. This video offers a glimpse into the brutality its forces are capable of on the ground. The Arakan Army must be transparent in holding those responsible accountable, strictly discipline its troops, and take proactive action, rather than only responding when exposed.”

New leaked video footage shows AA soldiers torturing&cutting the throats of two detainees.
“Hey, start slaughtering,” says one person in the video. “Move them near the pit.” Two perpetrators then saw & hack at the victims’ throats and then push one of them into the shallow pit.
New leaked video footage analyzed by @FortifyRights shows Arakan Army (AA) soldiers & plain-clothed men torturing & cutting the throats of two detainees.
The Int’l Criminal Court should investigate war crimes committed by the AA in Rakhine State, Myanmar. https://t.co/9aqq9FEK9Q

In a leaked video footage, the members of #ArakanArmy_AA mercilessly slau***ing and bur*ing prisoners of war alive. The victims looked like #Myanmar junta forces and date and location of the incident need to be identified.
So my questions is...
The so called leading media
Confirmed this morning: On 20th Dec, AA and some Rakhines set fire to and burned down over 30 Rohingya houses from the remaining homes in Ward 4, downtown Buthidaung. Buthidaung has been under AA control since May 2024.
Military Commander and General - Thurein Tun captured by AA. What a turnout for the criminal who devastated the the region which his brutality and divisive tactics between Rohingya and Rakhines in Northern Rakhine State!
#MYANMAR: Great for the broader fight against the junta, but armed groups need to respect the rights of local residents. Noticed social media posts from locals and AA supporters pushing for Maungdaw to be a Muslim-free zone since the #Rohingya were forced out. Maungdaw used to be home to a Rohingya majority.

In addition to nationwide war, the internet is a battlefield in #Myanmar, writes Sai Arkar, human rights associate @FortifyRights, in this compelling firsthand account of what it's like being a human rights defender in junta-controlled areas of the country https://t.co/cgIpJ8z3Tq
Labeling RSO, ARSA, and ARA as "Islamist terrorist groups" fuels hate and deepens communal divisions. The Burmese military employed this very narrative in 2017 to justify genocidal clearance operations against the Rohingya.
