Today, #TTC bus operator Tom Emery was recognized by our Board for his quick thinking.
Early on the morning of March 31, Tom was driving the 337 Islington overnight bus when he saw flames and smoke emitting from the rear of a house in the Steeles and Islington area of North York.
Tom immediately called the incident into Transit Control so it could be escalated through emergency responders who arrived a short time later.
In addition to this quick action, he remained on scene with his bus just in case there was a need for a shelter vehicle.
Tom’s actions were praised by the Fire Chief.
Tom is an example of the kind of employee excellence we see daily on the TTC. Thanks, Tom!
