I’ve said from the start that Ottawa should be clear about the American demands. It should disclose more so we needn’t rely on spin from people like Lutnick. But we can’t break our word by revealing documents if we want other nations to trust us in future negotiations.
We’ve been over this before:
Every Global 7500 that Bombardier builds in 🇨🇦 has 2 GE engines built in Indiana, 🇺🇸.
Every Challenger that Bombardier builds in 🇨🇦 has 2 Honeywell engines built in Arizona. 🇺🇸.
Bombardier employs 3,000+ 🇺🇸s & has 2,800 🇺🇸 suppliers.
Not so smart.

@SethAbramson An Executive Order cannot violate an existing treaty. See Section 3(b): "This order shall be implemented consistent with applicable law..."
In the framework of U.S. jurisprudence, duly ratified international treaties are considered "applicable law."

BREAKING NEWS: Canada's economy grew by an annualized 3.3% in second quarter, fastest pace since 2023. StatsCan also revises Q1 numbers to 0.3% growth. Remember concerns about technical recession. Yeah, there wasn't one. The rebound in growth was driven by exports and investment - which means business led the charge.
