Some people have reached out to me, wondering why I'm not as politically active this time around as I was in 2022/23.

Truth is, there's nothing to be said now that wasn't said in 2022/23. I promise you, there's no post I come across on the TL today that doesn't have a 2022/23 version. For example, the current burning topic on Tinubu's lack of verifiable educational qualifications? Old story. The lie about working ad deloitte? Old story.

That's why I've had the most important parts of my 2022/23 online work as my pinned tweet for 4 years running; because I'm not gonna be drawn into repeating the same things over and over again.

Peter Obi can allow Seun to draw him into dead conversations, maybe because he just needs to keep talking and stay in rotation.

Unfortunately, I'm not Peter Obi. I have neither his energy, his calm, nor his mental resilience. I simply can't afford that.

After the 2023 presidential election was so brazenly stolen, and after watching my fellow Nigerians whose lives were on the line write thread after thread in support of the heist, my world fell apart; literally disintegrated. I nearly ran mad.

When I say "I nearly ran mad," it is not a figure of speech; I mean I was close to clinical lunacy.

From 2022 to 2024, I did almost nothing meaningful with my life and career. Politics consumed me. I can't afford another round, please; not at this point in my life.

Peter Obi has achieved everything he set out to achieve in life. I say "everything" because the presidency isn't even an ambition for him; he sees it as a painful pilgrimage that must be undertaken for the good of Nigeria.

My life is just starting; and I'm sorry, I do not possess that level of mental resilience.

Lastly, the choice before Nigerians has never been any clearer. It's even clearer now than in 2022/23 because then, an argument could be made that you couldn't definitely say that Tinubu would make a terrible president until we'd tried him out (even though it was obvious to the least discerning).

Now, four years later, we've seen first hand every available evidence that he's not only a terrible president, but a demonic despot.

I'm not the one who will spend my time trying to convince Nigerians not to wilfully renew their subscription to hell for another 4 years. I'm sorry.

Without having the broad knowledge base necessary to maintain and upgrade wealth, generational wealth becomes a sorry illusion.

I have seen wealth evaporate after the demise of the builder of such wealth because the training necessary for its maintenance wasn't ingrained in their offsprings.

Wealth is transient. What previous generations considered as wealth are no longer important to future generations. I had a deep conversation with a relative recently. His parents are wealthy by Nigerian standards but he is not at all interested in what they have as he has seen better out there in the world.

He said that others are thinking about investing in NVIDIA and other semiconductor companies, his parents are thinking of Nigerian assets in an economy with constant devaluation due to inflationary pressures.

One of my in-laws explained it clearly to us at a family meeting a couple of years ago. Your African assets have to constantly earn above the local inflation rate or else you are digging a hole and not building generational wealth.

It made me realize that most of the families we consider as those with generational wealth were either fortunate to be in the right geography and with little conflict, or have derisked everything with a global presence.

My late grandmother did her bit with trading and opening a restaurant. Her son tried to do better with land acquisitions, and I am doing something totally different from both in tech. I don't know what my children will do in future, but the best thing my grandmother did with her wealth was to provide her children with education. Knowledge is the true generational wealth. It helps to open up opportunities.
