Cool Unreal Engine Fact TIL: 💾
UDataAsset can be stored in USaveGame and survives save/load. Unlike primitives and structs which are stored by value, a UDataAsset is stored as its asset path and resolved from the Content Browser on load.
Example use case:
Let's say you have some data representing a mission in your game.
1. Create a UDataAsset subclass that will contain the necessary data.
2. Create data assets of that kind for each mission.
3. Create a USaveGame subclass and add the aforementioned data asset type as a property.
4. When Loading/Saving you can access the mission data by extracting the UDataAsset from the USaveGame object.
