@jackdiest1 @TeslaCharging They have one at the new Dijon supercharger site also. It's something to do with fire suppression (says incendie on it), not sure if it's a big water reservoir or something else.

@nicknet100 @renew_economy The more painful cost blowout was Hinkley Point C's from £19bn to £48bn (and counting) which happened AFTER FID. Hornsea 4 was cancelled BEFORE construction started which is far less financially damaging. EDF would have gone bust had it not been nationalised.

@jm493_au @CleanPowerDave Yeah I appreciate they shut down in summer for maintenance I just always assumed that the % share would remain high - lower generation but also lower demand.

@colinwalker79 I lament the loss of the hand crank. Would have kept people fit and healthy vs turning a key, or worse pressing a start/stop button.

@robhawkes I think that's exactly why, these are the most recently built wind farms which have the 6 hours negative pricing rule. Must be a huge incentive to work with the likes of @FormEnergyInc and co-locate some 100-hour long duration storage at or near these sites.

@modernheroestv @eV_Newt @itskyleconner Some hotel groups are taking the view that installing rapids brings people in to use their facilities at otherwise quiet times as well as providing a useful service to guests. 250 AC chargers can't have a dual use in this way. A mix of both is probably good eg here:

@eV_Newt @modernheroestv @itskyleconner Maybe but what happens if the hotel has 4 AC chargers and when you turn up late in the evening they're all in use and their owners are tucked up in bed? Rapids mean guests can turn up, plug in, check in, then just come and take the car off charge later. So a place for both.

@TheEVuniverse @TeslaCharging Any amenities on offer? I love the fact Tesla SC's exist, but often go elsewhere on a long trip because I need the bathroom or somewhere to eat or just some shelter from the elements.

@eV_Newt Totally agree re EV first... My point is that just on 7p/unit tariff you'll pay under £200 for 10k miles. So not much savings to be had! But if you combine solar/battery, have a heat pump etc it all starts to synergise. But I wouldn't buy *just* solar *just* to power an EV.
