I'm making Sentinel public today.
It's a free, open source desktop app for working with AI on a local codebases.
I built it after spending a few months with the Codex app. That workflow clicked for me, but I wanted more around it. Different models, local runtimes, memory, integrations, terminal, browser, approvals, all in one place.

Sentinel can run Codex, Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Cursor Agent, and OpenCode. It also has its own built-in harness that ties everything together: threads, plans, automations, memory, repo state, and task management working as one system.

Open a folder. Start a thread. Pick a model. The agent does the rest.

14+ providers. Local first. macOS, Windows, Linux.

- Typography: Only 2 font weights. Regular for body text, medium for headings, and emphasis

ooh, that’s a really good question. i spent most of the time fine-tuning that ripple effect: the scatter magnitude, the reach, the falloff, etc (it’s still not perfect though, working on it).

so if i had to give it a name, i’d go with the ‘ripple zoom’.
