Balancing a boat, it turns out, can be quite unsettling. The closeness, the conversation, the unexpected charge of his touch. When he spoke of marriage, who was he thinking of? I know this, his genuine smile was solely directed at me and I loved it.

I don't know what to think.

It's only when I see the hurt, the pain writ clear across her face that I realize...it's her I want to be standing next to, not Eliza. When I'm with Miss H, no matter how much we infuriate each other I feel at home. Free to be myself without fear of judgement.
