sorry to wade into discourse again but why r some trans men on here convinced that passing rules/guides/etc are less restrictive/ruthless for trans women
“passing” is necessarily predicated upon being invisible to the gaze of those who would choose to hurt you. if it feels fascistic, it’s for the fact that you are disguising yourself from the eyes of the enemy - who sees you not as you are but as they decide you to be.
"can the average person tell the difference" is a really underrated concept in passing i think and applicable for all trans people. these kinds of discussions always get washed away in the discussion of "cisnormative" aesthetics but those aesthetics are how you blend in ie 'pass'
Dear dolls. Learn your history, honor your foremothers, appreciate the black and brown trans women who let us call ourselves doll, because its one of few names to call ourselves that's not rooted in sexualisation or medicalisation, but a celebration of beauty and resilience
Mind you, this is in response to a trans woman saying
"Having boyhood forced on me was violently traumatic and I feel like that common experience is not taken seriously and often erased as a 'privilege'"
"All the lesbians have their partners there and the bisexual can't bring their boyfriend" because the boyfriend isn't sapphic this isn't rocket science 😭
these podcast clips are the exact reason many trans women don’t feel safe with/represented by/in community with nonbinary people. you get a mullet and wear camo and think that makes you qualified to dissect transness? meanwhile you’ve never heard a bitch say transsexual? oh ok
idk, if someone doesn't wanna transition that's fine, but i think they're probably better suited by a different label than the one which you know, is for transition.
when we talked about how precarious it is to be a trans woman this is what we mean. Even in "progressive" spaces people will be so quick to treat you as irredeemably evil for the crime of following the wrong person on twt
@Wobbley289935@dBriceJ the difference is that it’s a policy decision to have a Europe-like healthcare model, but ac is a personal decision. I can’t just decide to have universal healthcare, but I can decide to put an ac unit in the window.
ok this is very funny but it also kinda perfectly represents why I don't like Dean Withers lol dunking on these ppl shouldn't even be considered an achievement
