The UK’s Illegal Migration Bill has passed - a dark turn for human rights in this country, and for Britain’s role in the world.
This attempt to deny the inalienable rights of refugees contravenes international law and threatens global systems of protection.
No human is illegal.
We’ve joined 290 orgs to condemn the passage of the cruel Illegal Migration Act. It doesn’t represent us or the society we all want to live in.
We will continue to strive for an asylum and immigration system that treats everyone with dignity and respect:

Our letter to @RishiSunak condemning this government’s plan to detain refugee children.
Together, we stand firm in our commitment to show care and compassion to any child in desperate need of protection.
We must #StopChildDetention.
All I know is, it's -i n t e r e s t i n g- someone who's apparently 20 is presented as a 'vulnerable young person' or even 'a child' by The Sun in this mess of a story about a BBC presenter.
I swear there's some other vulnerable young people The Sun treats quite differently🤔

Over the last year, BBC guidelines have changed.
Where previously they referred to asylum seekers, maybe “asylum seekers making irregular journeys” maybe a mix of asylum seekers & “economic migrants”
The exact same people are called “illegal migrants” by all presenters now.
Extra👏👏👏 to @AsylumAid who is part of the @HelenBamber Foundation Group and who challenged the Rwanda policy in the High Court and the Court of Appeal.
We're so pleased the Rwanda deal has been ruled to be unlawful!
We are so pleased that the Court of Appeal has deemed the Rwanda policy is unlawful on grounds of safety.
This is a vindication on the importance of the Rule of Law.
Thank you to all our amazing supporters for sharing this journey with us!

For the vast majority of refugees, there are no official routes to the UK. None at all.
It’s the UK’s policies that are forcing people onto dinghies and keeping people smugglers in business.
There’s one solution: open safe routes now.
