I can't put into words how FUN it is to play with home assistant and codex nowadays.
You can set any device, ask for any dashboard, 3d print and design anything you need.
Just by asking in a chat. I feel like a kid again.
Creo que el concepto e seniority va a cambiar, de una manera similar a la que ha ido cambiando con los años.
Nadie sabe binario, nadie sabe ensamblador, nadie sabe C.
Glad to see labs specializing. OpenAI on math, Anthropic on biology.
Competition is healthy, but using resources on different frontiers instead of the same ones is how this actually helps humanity.
@mattshumer_ Cheap models usage will grow not decrease, price per intelligence will keep going down and current frontier inteligence at cheap prices will open lots of doors
And it will not take an entire generation to play out, we are already seeing changes in the industry
Consumer 3d printing will live another revolution with AI
I remember the long nights configuring and learning my 3d printing, learning about solidworks and how to design.
Astra on codex can now design any 3d model you need, check blueprints online, research other people designs and build something for you
Then you ask it to print that idea. Its truly mind blowing
Starting to see AI the same way I see industrial machinery.
Machines didn’t win because they were more capable than a person. They won through brute force. Cheap, scalable strength that replaced human muscle even when the machine itself was clumsier and less adaptable.
AI is brute intelligence. It’s not as intelligent as a human. But the sheer volume of what you can do with it instantly, cheaply, at scale unlocks things that were unthinkable before.
@rama_moyano_ En Fimo hemos pasado de un diseñador tirarnos los diseños de producto a los developers, a nosotros tirarle a él nuevas features para que limpie el diseño. El trabajo es mucho mas ágil
Software dev is shifting from “how do we implement this” to “is this the behavior we want.”
now it’s more like: say what it should do, look at the plan, let the agent grind through the rest.
cursor projects feels like that. you set the behavior boundary, a coordinator plans and delegates, and you mostly check whether the thing actually behaves.
the how is getting automated. what’s left is the what.

The best advice you can get in life: realize you actually have the power to change things.
If a place won’t let you be autonomous, leave. Find another one. We are in the rare, privileged position where we can actually act on this.
Agency isn’t a personality trait. It’s a decision. Most of what exists around you exists because someone decided to make it exist. Same option is available to you.
Don’t wait to be taught the path. Don’t wait for permission. Don’t wait for the org to become the kind of place that lets you move.
Go make the thing. Or go find the place that will let you.
I can’t stress enough how little an idea matters compared to the agency of the people executing the idea.
I have had the privilege of knowing and sometimes even working with some of the most successful people (by various metrics).
The difference between mediocre and excellent work and outcomes is predominantly one of agency.
In practice this means: they dont wait for things to happen to them they go out and make things happen for them.
They don’t wait for someone else to do something, for someone to teach them, for someone to give them the path, etc. They just go out and find a way to do it.
I think the single biggest superpower these people have is the realization/belief that the world around them is completely mutable. Most everything that happens is because a person made it happen.
I used to tell people to look around the room you’re sitting in. Look at everything. Every noun. It almost all exists because a person willed it into existence. Nothing is stopping you from doing the same.
I see people online all the time dismissing someone else’s success because “I had that idea first” or whatever. I mean… yeah? If so then the difference is… you. So a bit of a self own whenever I hear that.
Number one tip: act with agency.
