Chinese-Thai worshippers gathered on Sunday at Wat Mangkon Kamalawat (Leng Noei Yi) on Charoen Krung Road to perform rituals seeking protection and good fortune for the Year of the Snake.
Devotees paid respects to Tai Sui (the Grand Duke Jupiter) and other deities, conducting ceremonies believed to ward off misfortune associated with the “clash year” (pi chong) and ensure safety from harm. Participants also registered their names for blessing prayers intended to bring prosperity and success throughout 2026.
The worship marked the Chinese New Year offering day, which this year fell on Feb 16 under the Chinese calendar. According to tradition, those born in the Year of the Rat are considered to face a 100% clash with the ruling zodiac sign in 2026.
