@lucianaberger I speak purely personally as someone whose partner begged them to end their life despite good palliative care. I accept peers want safeguards, but the sheer volume of unconsolidated amendments isnโt normal. By all means opponents should vote against the Bill, not talk it out.
I fear the amendments by many peers are not intended to make the Bill safer but are designed to thwart the will of the Commons and the majority of the population by talking it out of time
Supporters of Assisted Dying remain silent on how the Bill should be improved. The proposed amendments are trying to make the Bill safer, informed by medical colleges, professional groups and experts. And yet they are all dismissed. This is not how safe & workable laws are made.

We are enormously sad to see Amanda step down and wish her every success.ย We hope her successor will continue to prioritise MH not only to support those waiting for treatment but as part of a wider drive to improve the nationโs mental health
A phenomenally decent, smart, values-driven woman. Very sad news after Amanda has achieved so much through some of the NHSโs toughest times. Resolutely NHS. She will have a great future ahead of her but I hope she has a rest first.
We at Rethink are enormously sad to see Amanda Pritchard step down from her role as NHS CEO and wish her every success.ย Despite unprecedented challenges she managed to maintain a strategic commitment to mental health and in particular to those who are living with mental illness

Pleased to see the Committee shine a spotlight on community services for adults with severe mental health needs. The inquiryโs findings will be invaluable in identifying what is needed to make the shift from hospital to community and ensure everyone gets the support they need.
We're investigating community mental health services and we want to hear from you ๐ข
We want to know what you think high-quality care looks like for people with severe mental illness.

We must all come together to a stop short sighted approach to mental health. Strengthening mental health investment is right for those with mental illness and their families, but also for wider society. Investing in mental health will play a key role in delivering govtโ missions
๐จ Mental health services are already stretched beyond capacity.
Yet there are reports that the government may axe vital safeguards for mental health funding.
Alongside 17 organisations, we've written to the PM asking to protect funding for services ๐

Thereโs lots in it to talk about. Some good, some bad.

We are becoming increasingly concerned about proposed changes to the Work Capability Assessment.
We understand that the government needs to make difficult decisions. But these changes would be unequivocally the wrong choice.
Here's why ๐
Still early days for this administration and we are awaiting delivery of the step change trailed pre election. However, if this piece is correct, itโs deeply troubling, and the govt needs to restate its commitment to appropriate policy, practice and resources to transform lives
๐จ The government has today launched a new consultation to help shape the future of the NHS over the next decade.

@wendyburn@GSTTnhs Thanks Wendy. About to be discharged after wonderful support. Never expected to develop DKA or that it would so nearly take my life x
Iโm finding the NHS App such a wonderful tool in my interactions with staff whilst an impatient here @GSTTnhs . I hadnโt realised how extensive the data is. Itโs been transformative and will help make my discharge better for me and the hospital. Analogue to digital in action!
