.@MayorofLondon today planted the 500,000th City Hall-funded tree since he became Mayor, alongside pupils @GarrattPark, volunteers @TCVtweets and @WWF ambassadors Tayshan Hayden-Smith & Kedar Williams-Stirling.
The power of poetry to tell a story…the story of volunteers and communities getting involved and improving grey places by planting #trees#IDigTrees@TCVtweets Listen to Tom and enjoy
What a lovely habitat management day! #Volunteers working hard to get the site tidied after 4.5 months away!!

Why do we build dead hedges? (like the one below made by the Leyton Jubilee Park Green Gym)
They provide a habitat for wildlife, help prevent soil erosion, and recycle organic matter which supports a healthy ecosystem. #conservation#biodiversity#joininfeelgood
#Cowslips & Oak Apple #gall. 🌼🌳Gentle meadow management at Tunnel Gardens pulling ivy & hogweed. We surveyed the #bluebells on the southern section but only found one single English bluebell the rest were invasive spanish/hybrids. 😥
#Hounslow is encouraging residents to recycle more and waste less as part of the #NoTimeToWaste campaign.
#Reusing and #recycling more of what we waste helps protect our environment, and keeps household costs down too.

Lucky part 2!
He is well, watered and thriving.
I believe him to be an aspen! (someone correct me if I'm wrong I do not claim to be a whip expert)

Phewww!!!!!! This afternoon CAG cleared 40 sacks of rubbish, a fragmented air conditioning pipe, a bike, a bed and an assortment of other unbaggable tat from under Cranford Bridge. Bins are needed on the Bath Road to stop people flinging their rubbish into the river.
Thanks to the Friends of Cambrian gardens for a really enjoyable workday! TCV brought over some excess holly from our Chase Lane project to plant in the gardens and naturally we all got very muddy and had a great time!
