Meanwhile, in Melbourne…
The anti-Israeli crowd decided to hold a protest in Caulfield where more than 40% are Jewish…on the Sabbath on the anniversary of Kristallnacht.
Calls for violent uprising against Israel + antisemitic placards featured in central London pro-Palestinian protests yet again today. Woman in Trafalgar Square with placard showing image of Star of David being thrown into a dustbin. Slogan: “Let’s keep the world clean.” Demonstrators allowed to take over nearby Charing Cross station, shouting “river to the sea”, a destruction-of-Israel chant. Banner depicted swastika and Israeli flag with the caption: “If I don’t steal it somebody else is going to steal it — Israeli proverb.”
We thank @chiefrabbi for summarising the situation with such clarity and strength.
We must redraw the lines of moral clarity without delay. Today’s disgraceful scenes in London once again prove that.
If anyone knows these poppy sellers please DM me. I will try and rattle a tin with them tomorrow..
The saddest thing my generation of Veterans ever say to me is that they struggle to recognise the Country they wore the uniform for.
This is not it. We mustn't allow it to become like this.
London is a big City; there are plenty of areas to protest - the right for which Servicemen and women are proud to serve - without appearing to try and intimidate ordinary citizens trying to collect a bit of cash for Poppy Day - a non-political symbol.
“Weaponise. Even the word, mere weeks after weapons of death were used to massacre Jews, is offensive. At this moment, the accusation comes across as an attempt to invalidate Jewish pain.”

@thameswater Hello. I am currently out of the UK and need to contact @thameswater on an urgent matter. I can’t get your 0800 number to work from where I am. Do you have an alternative please?
Did you know NHS staff are facing a £50 a month lateral flow testing bill from next week?
This is absolutely scandalous and cannot be allowed to happen.
Please RT if you agree and help send a message to @sajidjavid

Today I cried for the first time at work- being in charge of ICU, and trying to rally positivity in a world where we are back to where we were in March, without the public support that we had, is super tough. Sending love and hugs to ICU’s across the UK tonight. ❤️
A new wave of #covid19 is crashing into hospitals in London and the UK
There is no clapping this time.
No rainbows in the window.
No free food and drink.
Everyone is shattered by this whole year.
But...the #NHS is stepping up to meet the challenge again.
Absolutely incredible.

This is awful. @MattHancock has just made a passionate repeat of a pledge @BorisJohnson made weeks ago to get PPE to people working in care homes. Worse - he looks like he thinks we should be applauding
