Here is George Clooney response after Trump accused him of being a "Hollywood elite."
"Here’s the thing: I grew up in Kentucky. I sold insurance door-to-door. I sold ladies’ shoes. I worked at an all-night liquor store. I would buy suits that were too big and too long and cut the bottom of the pants off to make ties so I’d have a tie to go on job interviews. I grew up understanding what it was like to not have health insurance for eight years.
So this idea that I’m somehow the “Hollywood elite” and this guy who takes a shit in a gold toilet is somehow the man of the people is laughable.
People in Hollywood, for the most part, are people from the Midwest who moved to Hollywood to have a career. So this idea of “coastal elites” living in a bubble is ridiculous. Who lives in a bigger bubble?
He lives in a gold tower and has twelve people in his company. He doesn’t run a corporation of hundreds of thousands of people he employs and takes care of. He ran a company of twelve people!
When you direct a film you have seven different unions all wanting different things, you have to find consensus with all of them, and you have to get them moving in the same direction.
He’s never had to do any of that kind of stuff. I just look at it and I laugh when I see him say “Hollywood elite.” Hollywood elite? I don’t have a star on Hollywood Boulevard, Donald Trump has a star on Hollywood Boulevard! Fuck you!"

So, Albertabama’s doltish Premier not only wants to fire the province’s Ethics Commissioner who found her to be unethical, she wants to change the definition of ethics as well.
Oh, and appoint a UCP-friendly Chief Elections Officer.

Wow! This is so good. Barack Obama knows exactly what to say, every damn time.
He taps into the struggle we are experiencing in society & in politics with culture wars, diversity and inclusion and the dangers ahead — unless we find a way to live & let live.
“It’s easier for people to agree on stuff when the majority of people look the same, worship the same way & share the same traditions. It’s harder as societies become more diverse, and everybody is at the table.”
Worth really taking in.
Conservatives are running provinces into the ground
Criminal investigations, rampant cronyism, unconstitutional laws, privatizing health care, etc
Poilievre is one of them
So while you might hate PMJT, Poilievre would be destructive beyond what blind hate can fathom

The federal government doesn’t hold all of the fiscal cards. Provinces have all of the same revenue-generating tools that the federal government does, but they simply don’t want to use them. Hold them to account for not funding their municipalities. #PnPCBC
Today in conservative premiers: Blaine Higgs and Scott Moe might use the notwithstanding clause because they don't like the idea of trans kids, Danielle Smith wants to pull out of CPP and take half of the rest of Canada's money, and Doug Ford ate his Greenbelt plan. Tour de force
Zelensky, speaking in flawless English and with his wife, Olena, looking on, told #UNGA that the West shouldn’t take Russia’s aggressive actions lightly: “The goal of the present war against Ukraine is to turn our land, our people, our lives, our resources into a weapon against you, against the rules-based international order.” #UNGA78
Mark Carney, "When Brexiters tried to create Singapore-on-the-Thames, the Truss government instead delivered Argentina-on-the-Channel."
Calm, measured, enlightening. This speech by @MarkJCarney at the Global Progress Action Summit is a must watch #GlobalProgressAction23 👏
On Sept. 11, 1973 Salvador Allende, Chile’s democratically elected president, was overthrown by a military coup backed by the U.S. which ushered in a fascist government and the loss of thousands of Chilean lives. Today, we honor the memory of Salvador Allende.
Pride Month: the month when the people who paid to have profanity printed on the Canadian flag, drew a swastika on the flag, flew Confederate, Trump, and Nazi flags in the capital, clutch their pearls and say a rainbow flag in an insult to the Canadian Flag. Unbelievable. 🏳️🌈🇨🇦❤️
Let's speak clearly. Not saying that the Cdn cultural and economic conditions are ripe for the brand of Fascism that swept Europe in the 30s &40s. What I am saying is that Populism is almost always led by charlatans who manipulate common people by pretending to hero worship them.
CBC is not state media. It’s a public broadcaster. If you don’t know the difference, I haven’t got time for you. If you know the difference, looking at you conservative opinionists, and still refer to them that way: you’re the bloody problem.
