The peacemonger is more dangerous than the warmonger.
The peacemonger demands the vulnerable lay down and accept their own destruction.
They insist that the strong restrain themselves and apologize for having the means to defend what they love while the violent and the predatory are excused, explained away, and indulged.
Peacemongering is not the actual pursuit of peace - it is the politics of forced submission wrapped in compassionate terms so you don’t see it coming.
They see moral clarity as extremism and argue defense is provocative.
Peacemongers demand the lamb negotiate with the wolf, and then blame the lamb when it’s eaten.
Peacemongers do not prevent war nor do they bring about peace.
They harm the most vulnerable and empower the brutal. And they enable conflict and conquest by shaming resistance.
War is brutal, ugly, and bitter. But it is also occasionally necessary. Somethings are worth fighting for.
The peacemonger believes only in the illusion of peace and is willing to surrender anything to get it.

(note: the fact that it is not actually Hitchens is irrelevant)
Also, about the peace deal and Trump's part in it: https://t.co/OodesP9PLF
@colman_michel I am aware of the biases of my sources and hate how they spin everything one way, but even so there's a lot that's undeniable that the republicans spin even harder the other way. I haven't been bookmarking lately, so would need to spend more time than I care to find it back.
@colman_michel Gonna be frank, I don't have the time and energy to go and hunt for all the evidence that the political violence is the result of the likes of Kirk.. (Brandolini's Law) You clearly are a big fan of King Trump and his gang of sycophants that can do no wrong.. I'll let you to it.
@colman_michel Not to mention that the democrats are portrayed as the party of pedophiles, while they have a pedophile and convicted rapist in the White House. Republicans lament that rapists and pedophiles get low sentences (not true), yet don't see a problem electing one as president..
