We have always been fans of companies like Supabase, which galvanize the developer community with quarterly launch weeks.

In our first-ever Launch Week, we will share some of the things we’ve been working on at @evefanhq.

Our first announcement is nuts! 😳

We've enabled ingesting and querying terabytes of data directly to and from S3 Object Storage without setting up Kafka, Hadoop, Spark, or even an application server.

All serverless and with 99% cheaper compute. 🫡

We are thrilled to do so during the @duckdb @smalldatasf in San Francisco and the @Cloudflare #BirthdayWeek!

Friends, I have three EXCITING announcements to make today:

1. We are pivoting! 👊

We’re pivoting away from @AllyAllergyCare . In short, after nine months of grueling work, we’ve concluded that we’re not solving a meaningful enough problem for people. Yes, allergies suck, but after going through the flow with 300+ people, it's clear that a digital companion does not make the situation significantly better to warrant paying for it. I’ll post this in the coming days as I’ve learned some valuable consumer/health/GTM insights for the community!

2. We are now @evefanhq , a Segment Alternative That Run On Cloudflare Workers

We enable developers to privately capture, transform, and deliver customer events at an internet scale! Evefan is open source and self-hosted on Cloudflare workers. Because the data runs through your infrastructure and thanks to the power of Cloudflare, Evefan acts as a viable Segment alternative but with 99% cheaper compute! We’ve received incredible feedback from early adopters in the last couple of weeks.

3. I moved to San Francisco! 🇺🇸

After 11 months of work (and more than a few back and fourths with USCIS and the State Department!), I have been granted the O1 extraordinary talent visa! I initially started this process to accelerate Ally’s go-to-market, but after just a couple of days here it's clear that this is THE place to be to build GREAT developer-focused products. While talent is evenly distributed across the world, opportunity isn’t. I’m grateful for the chance to chase greatness in the most powerful tech hub in the world!

I will take this opportunity to build in public and get feedback/criticism along the way! By December, I will accomplish five goals. I will share them soon and keep you updated on progress.

Once again, thank you to everyone who has supported us in this journey. It’s been a crazy two years of ups and downs since I quit my job at https://t.co/pL2nGTXUE4 to chase my startup dreams. I’m still taking large swings, have acquired more skills than ever, I’m surrounded by people who push me, and am STOKED about the future! It's been a little while since my last post...

As many of you know, after completing @ycombinator W23 programme in May 2023, we returned to the drawing board and decided to pivot Map3.

While we had some customers, we didn't get enough market pull...

After iterating through 7 ideas in 4 months (!!), I was really burned out and almost quit the startup life altogether.

I then took a week off and visited London after a year of being away. I was reminded how CRAZY bad my hay fever is. It ruined my holiday.

I searched for an app that helped me manage it so that I never got caught off guard again. I was shocked not to find anything that met my needs.

After ten years in Crypto / Fintech, I really questioned whether I should venture into Health.

I started posting adverts on Craigslist and inviting fellow sufferers to interviews. After listening to over 100 sufferers in Q4, I got convinced there was something here.

There's a significant opportunity to put a digital allergies coach in the pocket of everyone who suffers from this chronic disease (>1 billion people globally!).

Ally helps you quickly identify your triggers with our home test and get tailored advice through our app based on your environment, habits, and approaches that help others with similar allergies.

We're now a team of 5, including medical doctors, engineers and designers. We're partnered with top labs in the US, and a board-qualified physician in your state reviews every test.

We can't wait to show you what we have in store in the coming weeks!
