40 years ago today @McLarenF1 changed the future of motorsport when they unveiled the MP4/1 carbon-composite chassis at @SilverstoneUK. Initial scepticism was silenced after John Watson's fiery shunt at Monza, despite the car ripping in two he walked off completely unharmed! #F1
