Opening up the first session @natsheep#SheepHealthWeek conference, looking at different nations approaches to animal welfare, @CharlesSercombe points out that, ‘disease doesn’t respect boarders.’
Fantastic to hear Prime Minister @RishiSunak unequivocally back British Farming at his first PMQs. Thank you @baynes_simon for highlighting the success of sending Welsh Lamb to America 🏴➡️🇺🇸 #PMQs
A very enjoyable first day of U.K. Government exchange trip with Swiss Farmers Union and NFU members. Building connections and opportunities to work together on lots of shared priorities for our Agri-sectors. 🇬🇧 🇨🇭
Ahead of @COP26 and the launch of exciting work we've developed with @AHDB_Dairy and @dairyuk under the @DairyRoadmap, remember to use "Rethinking Ruminants"; slides, infographics and more to promote the environmental credentials of our amazing sector🐄🌍https://t.co/9tlsReaPHs
Just heard UK trade minister trying to defend trade deal with NZ, stating that this will allow UK citizens to eat NZ lamb in the autumn when UK lamb is out of season. She either misspoke or simply does not know. UK lamb supply peaks from July - December and is available all year.
Interesting article. 95% of Australian sheep meat exports go to 19 destinations, with China in red being the biggest. Unlike the UK where +90% of our lamb exports head to the EU.

@MillyFyfe@RoyalCornwall@DavidFursdon@CornwallYFC Happy days, let’s hope we can return to agricultural shows in the future. They are a very important part of rural life. Especially the social side !!!
We must see a concerted effort from all retailers to push/promote other cuts not just mince to address carcase balance. Or the price of mince needs to increase by 50p/kg.

The UK's #beef and #lamb is some of the most sustainably produced #meat in the world. Their #grazing land captures carbon dioxide from the atmosphere and provides vital #habitats and #food sources for some of our most treasured and at-risk wildlife species #livestock#environment
UK farmers feel under constant media attack. We HAVE a big commitment on climate change. We HAVE some of the highest standards of animal welfare, env protection & food hygiene. Others DO NOT. Let’s back UK #farmers positive approach & highlight less sustainable systems elsewhere
@English_Farmer@CharlesSercombe@CCLeicsPolice these people need catching please report anything suspicious to the police - there is not only the butchery and theft issues but public safety because somewhere this meat is entering the food chain 🤢
