My Brother in law is a Brit, born in the North East. He married and Afrikaans woman in South Africa almost 30 years ago. She wanted to become a British Citizen. Understandably.
She came here by legal means, with all the relevant visas and correct documentation. Everything legal and above board. She had to jump through hoops and endless red tape at great cost (fortunately her husband could afford it). It cost literally tens of thousands of pounds. What with private medical treatment etc. Nothing, absolutely nothing was free.
After six years, lawyers fees and all the expense she finally got to the day of sitting the exam for her citizenship. She had to pass a history test, and English language test, and finally, she became a British citizen.

Yet dinghy folk can rock up on a beach having ditched any and all ID. Get put up in hotels, paid pocket money issued a mobile phone, 3 meals a day and get to stay here, when we have no clue who they are, where they came from, or what their intentions are. And yet you wonder why I'm so adverse to dinghy migrants.
