Does anyone have the latest news on the Rhodes fire? We’re in Lindos Mare and a bus has arrived - are package holidays like TUI evacuating again?

@vorrill @GallSus The hotel is still quiet but no one seems too worried - they are still people around the pool and in the cafe areas just getting on with their holiday

@vorrill @GallSus The hotel is still operating as normal although very quiet - we’ve heard that over the next week they expect to be at ~30% capacity.

@Cazmccarthy @keithstewartart We didn’t see any road closures at 11am this morning. The most reliable sources for info on roads (in our opinion) are the taxi drivers. If you decided to return you could try booking and see what they say?

@keithstewartart According to others TUI are evacuating. But all the guests near us appear to be staying. No official advice from government or hotel that Lindos is unsafe. But we are packed ready to go if needed.

@keithstewartart We returned to the Lindos Mare this morning after being evacuated. The hotel is open with some guests around (but definitely not full). The fire is changing a lot. At the moment there’s red hues on some of the mountains towards Masari / Malonas.

@vorrill @GallSus The fire is constantly changing - it was smokey around 5pm then clear, at 11pm we could see a red glow in the mountains towards Masari / Malonas which seems to subsiding

@LoggerJam The bus waited for about 20 mins and then left empty?? We’re so confused. Haven’t heard anything official or from the hotel so hoping that’s a positive sign.

.@LindosMare could you please provide an update? We were evacuated at 6:45am & have been left in a school in Afantou. All the information we get is from TUI & we didn’t fly with them. Is it possible to return, & if not, will you help us find alternative accommodation? #rhodes

@LoggerJam @vorrill @petrescu_bianca @LindosMare We took the road labelled 95. It has got a bit smokey here in the last hour or so and we’ve had an alert that Masari and Malonas are to be evacuated to Archanggelos. Hotel is operating as normal.

@petrescu_bianca @LindosMare Just responded on the thread - hotel is fine, some smoke behind the mountains, it is quiet but there are guests around. We’ve also just got this notification - feeling more reassured!
