Omicron is not a 'South African variant', it's a variant that was spotted & reported by brilliant South African scientists so fast the world has a chance to get on top of it. Could have originated anywhere.

At least we know how everyone will respond to this latest setback in the pandemic: 80% of the public will be rightly concerned & do what they can to help overcome it, and 20% won’t give a toss & will moan incessantly about not being ‘allowed’ to do what they’ll do anyway.

Bottom line with #Omicron is nobody yet knows how bad it will be but all the scientific signs (30+ mutations in spike protein alone) suggest it could be very serious in terms of transmission speed & ability to evade current vaccines. People mocking it need to wake the f*ck up.
