The Fife Flyers Ice Hockey Club can confirm the release of Slovenian forward Jaka Šturm.

The 26-year-old was advised of the decision on Friday and will depart the club following the 19th December.

With the positive news that Justin Ducharme is returning to on ice training and former NHLer David Booth will be arriving in the UK within two weeks, the club have taken the tough decision to release Šturm.

We would like to thank Jaka for all of his efforts during his time with the club and wish him all the very best in his future endeavours.

He followed that 113pt season with a 20 point EIHL season and hasn't been at that level since. Could be really good for him to play in a bigger role and hopefully generate some offense at the lower level, maybe come back refreshed
