@Islam435 After that incident, the US helped leading the reconstruction process of Japan and has given billion of dollars to Japan in order to build the country economically, politically, socially.
@grok@AbuHafsah1 Doesn't change the substance. Religious doctrines/figures/places don't deserve to be put over someone's life! If your religion implements it then f*ck your religion!
“Is America ready for a Muslim president?”
Kristen Welker asked Michigan Democratic Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed on Meet the Press yesterday. As a Muslim with a long history of fighting against Islamist's anti-Western politics and thought, I find the framing of this question deeply concerning. Here is why:
🇺🇸 The question should never be whether America is ready for a Muslim president. The question should be whether a political candidate is ready to put the American Constitution above religious doctrine and political ideology. Constitutional loyalty is what matters... always.
👉 The United States represents one of humanity's greatest achievements in constitutional democracy, individual liberty, and religious freedom. In all honesty, sadly, Islam (until reformed, maybe) is not compatible with these values. I am speaking from experience here, as a Muslim and as someone who experienced the Muslim Brotherhood rule in Egypt firsthand.
🔆🇺🇸 There is a fundamental difference between being a Muslim who participates in a secular democracy and embracing political Islam, which seeks to subordinate political institutions to religious authority. Having spent much of my life confronting the latter in Egypt and in the United States, I know how consequential that distinction is.
⁉️ Finally, it is interesting how El-Sayed responded to the question by saying he had no intention of running for president. It just reminded me of something I heard repeatedly from Muslim Brotherhood leaders in Egypt before the Arab Spring. They also insisted they had no presidential ambitions. They claimed they wanted only parliamentary representation to serve the Egyptian people. Then, when the political opportunity emerged in 2012, they used their parliamentary base and stepped up to the presidency.
✋ And I hate to say it, but I did not flee for my life from an Islamized Egypt, leaving everything behind, only to come to the United States (the land of the free) and find myself hearing the same conversations about religion and political power in the American media! Please! It is pretty traumatic.
FROM JORDAN: HER FATHER STABBED HER TO DEATH BECAUSE SHE REFUSED TO ABANDON HER CHRISTIAN HUSBAND.
This is one story I will never forget. I personally investigated it and reported it on my show in 2008.
Sultan Al-Sawahreh went to Iraq for jihad against American forces. He returned to Jordan, began questioning Islam, and eventually converted to Christianity.
He was married to his cousin Rana (very common there). They had two little daughters.
When his conversion became known, Rana’s family demanded their separation. Under traditional Islamic law, a Muslim woman cannot remain married to a man who leaves Islam (apostate).
But Rana refused to give up her husband.
They continued meeting secretly. According to Sultan, she eventually became a Christian herself.
They planned to escape Jordan with their daughters and live freely.
When her father discovered their plans, he confronted her.
He stabbed his own daughter to death (honor killing)
Rana was only 20.
I interviewed Sultan on my show and personally called Rana’s family during the funeral. Her mother and brother confirmed key details of the murder, although they disputed her conversion.
Think about this: A father would rather bury his daughter than allow her to live with a Christian husband (apostate).
Two little girls lost their mother. A husband lost his wife. And a young woman lost her life because her freedom was considered a disgrace.
When leaving Islam can cost you your marriage, your children, or your life, don’t lecture me about religious freedom.
Her name was Rana Al-Sawahreh.
Her father killed her. Her crime was choosing her husband over religious coercion.
