In 2023, the APC went into an election cycle under relentless, coordinated and targeted attacks from the opposition. The party was defending itself on multiple fronts, reacting to attacks, countering narratives, and trying to stabilise its own campaign machinery.

The APC tried but it appeared it did not have the bandwidth to thoroughly scrutinise or fact‑check the claims, records, and public‑service histories of Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi, because it was mainly defending Presidential Candidate Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

This cycle is different. There is enough time to dig into everyone’s past, examine their governance record, interrogate their claims, and separate packaged lies from documented reality.

See, no candidate should be insulated from scrutiny, and no political brand should be treated as sacred. Nigerians deserve a full audit of every public figure asking for power. Then, they can decide on who to vote for.

I am amused that some supporters still cling to the fantasy that their own candidate is a saint, untouchable, flawless, and beyond criticism. While other candidates are bad and evil. That mindset is part of the problem.

Nigerian politicians, across parties, often operate with the same habits, the same instincts, and the same political playbook. Only a very small handful behave differently; and even they require scrutiny, not worship.

I welcome the commencement of construction of the $12 million Abuja Centre for Entrepreneurship, being developed at the SMEDAN Industrial Development Centre in Idu, Abuja, with support from the Republic of Korea through KOICA @KorEmbNigeria and in partnership with SMEDAN @SMEDANGov and UNDP @UNDPNigeria.

The Centre will support the wider MSME ecosystem by providing workspaces, digital infrastructure, training, incubation and business support for entrepreneurs, start-ups and growing businesses.

It will begin with 500 aspiring entrepreneurs, 400 start-ups and 1,500 MSMEs.

Before Ambassador Joe Keshi came on ARISE this morning, Ayo and his colleague, the other guy were already having a field day: “Nigeria missed an opportunity because President Tinubu was not physically at the UNGA…...Usual critics....... (Dr Abati was absent).

They were building the case, warming up the microphone and practically preparing to hand Ambassador Keshi their script.

Then Ambassador Keshi entered.

They thought they could force their thinking into his creed. Instead, Keshi began schooling them.

His point was simple: What exactly is so special about the President being physically present? As long as the Vice President is there, Nigeria is fully represented.

Then he went further:

What did President Buhari’s regular attendance at UNGA translate into in terms of foreign-policy achievements?

And then came the real lesson: There are eight important issues before the UN General Assembly. Those issues should be our focus—not the endless obsession over who attended physically and who did not.

Keshi even reminded them that, in reality, the US President is about the only leader whose UNGA speech commands that kind of attention—and after he speaks, even the seats begin to empty!

The same person who had been shouting earlier about “Mr President is not there” (the other anchor on the show) suddenly switched gear and started describing UNGA attendance as “jamboree” and a waste of money.

ELECTRICITY UPDATE: Nigeria-Siemens Electricity Project by @fgnpcppi

1: Under Phase 1 of the Presidential Power Initiative (PPI), @fgnpcppi is advancing critical transmission line projects designed to complement the transmission substations being implemented by Siemens Energy.

2: The transmission lines workstream, being delivered by China Machinery Engineering Corporation (CMEC), comprises 16 transmission line projects approved by the Federal Executive Council.

3: Together, these projects will strengthen the transmission network, facilitate the efficient evacuation of available generation, release stranded capacity, increase transmission wheeling capacity, and improve the delivery of reliable electricity to key economic clusters, industrial hubs and downstream customers.

4: One of the flagship projects is the 330kV Double-Circuit Transmission Line linking Olorunsogo and Ayede, with a tee-off at the New Abeokuta 330kV Transmission Substation.

5: The project will enable efficient evacuation of power from the New Abeokuta Substation while strengthening network capacity and supporting improved power supply to customers and economic activities across the corridor.

The decisions we have taken to reposition Nigeria’s oil and gas sector are beginning to bear fruit.

Since assuming office, I have signed a series of Presidential Directives and Executive Orders to make investment in Nigeria more competitive, reduce the cost and time required to develop projects, provide greater certainty to investors and ensure that our natural resources deliver greater value to our people.

One of those reforms introduced specific incentives to unlock onshore and shallow-water gas projects that had remained undeveloped for years.

Today, we are seeing the result.

AMNI International and TotalEnergies have taken an $800 million Final Investment Decision to develop the Ima Gas Field, discovered in 1973 and left underground for more than fifty years.

For Nigerians, this means work for our engineers, technicians and contractors. It means opportunities for Nigerian businesses, jobs and economic activity in our host communities, and more export earnings for our country.

AMNI, a Nigerian company, holds the majority interest in the project. Around 60% of the development workforce is expected to come from the host communities.

Ima is expected to produce about 350 million cubic feet of gas every day at peak and supply about one-third of the gas required for the expansion of Nigeria LNG.

This is what our reforms are intended to achieve, to move Nigeria’s resources from potential to production and translate them into jobs, incomes and opportunity for our people.

We have more to unlock.

Again, my heart is heavy as I remember the Awkuzu SARS horror in Anambra during @PeterObi’s tenure as Governor.

The Ezu River tragedy of 2013, with dozens of bodies floating lifelessly, remains one of the most haunting wounds in our national memory.

Investigations collapsed and was swallowed by a massive cover up.

What continues to break my heart is the role of James Nwafor, accused by countless families of torture, disappearances, and extrajudicial killings, yet retained in a senior security role. It took youth protests for him to be removed. This still raises painful questions about accountability.

Families across Anambra still wait for answers. Their children vanished, hopes buried, and Nwafor has not faced trial.

My heart bleeds for the young Nigerians whose lives were cut short. These were sons and daughters of our great nation. We must never forget them. We must continue to demand justice and truth.

No family should carry this kind of pain alone. I urge the Inspector‑General of Police, IGP Tunde Disu (@TunjiDisu1) to reopen and investigate this case fully and transparently. I also urge Mr Peter Obi to help unravel the truth because this is what Nigerians deserve.

7. If POLICE send you invitation during weekend, try tell dem say you go show face on Monday as you are out of town for now, cos they will probably detain you till Monday before they can transfer you to court if the matter is the one the type they need to transfer to court

The fact are as blunt as they can be....

The new slogan is that Tinubu has paid you if you support the idea that Nigeria is growing and doing better...

But here is the journey...

Nigeria has overcome many struggles and ran the course of 26 laps in years of democracy.....5 successive administrations without hiccups...

Some unfortunate human beings almost reset these gains by staging a coup to oust the present administration...

Their pains were obvious,being out of power while that nation made historical financial gains...their itchy hands were kept away from the national cookie...

Instead of doing the hard work of opposition and proving themselves as a more viable alternative to this administration,they chose to strike through the back door like thieves in the cover of darkness....thankfully,key actors were rounded up while some fled to countries from where they adjudge their innocence outside the courts of law...

The popular saying that "nobody want die but everybody want go heaven" stands true for some of our people...

The old ways of mediocrity,subsidy,coups,salary owing,assuu strikes and marathon fuel queues have to go for a more prosperous era to be ushered in...

We are begining to see that Nigeria can build a society where leadership can be questioned and criticised without fear and intimidation....

We can fuel our vehicles without 3 days all night queues and prayer meetings in gas stations....

We have states paying off previous debts with surplus to cater for civil workers and state development....

We have set the tone for competitive education and access to student loans...

These are not arguments,these are facts...

We can argue that these initiatives are not perfect,but taking initiative to grow is paramount to seeking perfection without first taking action...

We see the struggles and battles,some of us have chosen to add our muscle to the efforts...

We cannot turn the corner if we shy away from the hardwork...

No progress is built outside stability...

We deserve another four years of prosperity...
