HAWKS SEEK PUBLIC ASSISTANCE IN LOCATING PERSON OF INTEREST FOLLOWING SASOLBURG CASH-IN-TRANSIT ROBBERY

The #Hawks’ Welkom-based Serious Organised Crime Investigation (SOCI) detectives are seeking Mothoezane Xaba, from Daza Hostel, whose photograph is attached, as a person of interest who may assist with the investigation into an armed cash-in-transit robbery that occurred on Tuesday, 22 September 2026, in Sasolburg.

It is alleged that security guards were conducting their normal cash collection duties at retailers in Sasolburg, when one of the guards was accosted by an unknown suspect who pointed a firearm at him. A bag with an undisclosed amount of cash was taken. Approximately five suspects escaped in a blue Nissan Tiida with registration number CY28TPGP.

The security guards pursued the suspects to Minaar Street in Vaalpark, where the suspects allegedly abandoned the vehicle and hijacked an Amarok Quantum minibus with registration number MD45GVGP, along with its driver. The suspects then drove towards the Vereeniging taxi rank, where they abandoned the minibus and boarded a taxi travelling to Vosloorus.

Two vehicles in the vicinity and several building walls were damaged during the shooting. No fatalities or injuries were reported.

Xaba, who is sought for questioning in connection with the investigation, is believed to be originally from KwaZulu-Natal.

Kgantlapane was last seen by her sister on Saturday, 19 September 2026, when she left home without informing anyone where she was going. She has not been seen since.

At the time of her disappearance, she was wearing brown tracksuit pants, black and white sports shoes, a brown pyjama top and a black and white jacket.

MISSING PERSON: PIENAAR POLICE REQUEST PUBLIC ASSISTANCE IN LOCATING 16-YEAR-OLD GRESHEM GALELA MASHABA

Police in Pienaar, Mpumalanga, are requesting the public’s assistance in locating 16-year-old Greshem Galela Mashaba, who was reported #missing.

Mashaba was last seen on Sunday, 7 September 2026, when he left his residence in Pienaar, Mpumalanga, in the morning to go to school. However, he did not report to school and never returned home.

At the time of his disappearance, he was wearing a white school shirt, a green jacket and grey school trousers.

Anyone who may have information regarding Mashaba’s whereabouts is urged to contact the investigating officer, Constable LL Magagula, on 013 794 9309.

POLICE APPEAL FOR INFORMATION TO LOCATE MISSING SOSHANGUVE WOMAN

The South African Police Service (SAPS) in Soshanguve is appealing to the public for assistance in locating 33-year-old Kutlwano Masilo, who was reported #missing.

Masilo was last seen on Tuesday, 22 September 2026, in Block F, Soshanguve. Her current whereabouts are unknown, and police are conducting an investigation into her disappearance.

Anyone who may have information that could assist police in locating Kutlwano Masilo is urged to contact Soshanguve SAPS, Constable Rammego on 067 167 7188, or the SAPS Crime Stop number on 08600 10111.

Vosloorus SAPS are appealing to the public for assistance in locating a 71-year-old man, Lerato Paulos Mabote, who was reported #missing by his son on 13 September 2026. He has not yet been located.

Mr Mabote was last seen in the Vosloorus area wearing a black round-neck jersey with grey patches on the front, grey and red tracksuit trousers, and black sandals. He is approximately 6.7 feet tall. It is believed that, due to his age, Mr Mabote may be confused or disoriented and may not know where he is. Members of the public are therefore requested to be on the lookout for him, including outside the Vosloorus area, as he is known to be capable of walking long distances before experiencing difficulty walking.

Anyone who may have seen Mr Mabote or has information that could assist in locating him is urged to contact Vosloorus SAPS Sgt Mototo on 011 960 0264/5/6 or Sgt Mabote on 074 368 3873.

JOUBERTON POLICE REQUEST COMMUNITY ASSISTANCE IN TRACING A MISSING WOMAN: MANTSANE LETLAKA (22)

The police in Jouberton request the community’s assistance in locating #missing 22-year-old Mantsane Letlaka, of Jouberton in Klerksdorp. Letlaka was last seen by her mother on Thursday evening, 09 January 2025 when she left with her friend but never returned.

A search commenced and extensive investigations were conducted, without any positive results. It is not known what she was wearing at the time of her disappearance. She is light in complexion and about 1.6 meter tall with a medium built body and had black plaited short hair.

The police request anyone who may have information regarding Mantsane Letlaka’s whereabouts to contact the Investigating Officer, Constable Donovan Craucamp on 084 201 3500 or 018 465 9342. Winburg police are appealing for assistance from members of the public. This is after Karabo Magdalena Jafta (27) was reported #missing by her boyfriend.

It is alleged that Karabo was last seen on Sunday, 20 September 2026 at about 20:00. Karabo allegedly left her home at Old Location in Makeleketla Winburg to go buy a cigarette. According to the reporter when he woke in the morning Karabo had still not returned home. No one has seen or heard from her since.

Efforts by the family to locate her were all in vain. The matter was reported to the police and a missing person's file has been registered for further investigations.

Karabo was last seen wearing a black hooded top, a yellow doek, blue denim shorts, colourful shoes and was wrapped up in a blue towel.

She is light in complexion, slender and average height.
